Fred McGee Scholarship
In 2009, our Executive Director was able to meet a man named Mr. Fred McGee. Within the first few minutes of their conversation about camp ministry, a relationship was instantly formed . Mr. McGee desired to see kids and students lives changed by creating a camp for them in Gaston County. Jay agreed and was all ready doing camps around the southeast. Together they would become a team to help create the first and only summer camp in Gaston County called Crowders Ridge. Whether you just have resources or knowledge there is always something you can give.
I believe that reaching kids and students before the age 18 should be one of the highest priorities of the local church. – Fred McGee
Would you help us GIVE the GIFT of Camp to kids who can not afford to come? Most camp weeks cost $200 per person, but any gift will help.
– To enable young people with spiritual or financial needs to attend camp at a cost that is affordable to them.
In Mark 10:14, Christ commands his disciples: “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (ESV). Today, finances are often the biggest hindrance for attending camp. The FM Scholarship Fund was founded to help ease this hindrance.
Scholarships are determined on an individual basis. Starting on April 1st we will begin the application process and choose kids based on the funds given.
PRAY – DO SOMETHING – Give the Gift of Camp.
